Arsenal fans told not to lose hope on ANOTHER £100m signing
Arsenal fans are in sheer disbelief but soaking in the club taking their spending over £200m. It was widely reported before the transfer window opened that Mikel Arteta had big plans, but whether or not the owners backed his strategy was unknown at the time. Well, three signings later and fans have the answer.
But, Arteta is not one to rest. While he’ll be happy that the board believes in his vision, he’ll know that the squad isn’t perfect till it’s perfect. There are signings which could still be made to enhance the squad for next season, including a right-winger to backup Saka or even another midfielder for squad depth.
Arsenal shouldn’t be ruled out of Moises Caicedo race
On that note, Arsenal fans have been told to keep considering the signing of Moises Caicedo from Brighton and Hove Albion. Of course, this does seem like a long shot, but according to Graeme Bailey speaking on the Talking Transfers podcast, Arsenal and Liverpool shouldn’t be overlooked with the signing of Caicedo.
Chelsea are in strict negotiations with Brighton and Hove Albion, following a couple of lowball offers. While Brighton are difficult to negotiate with (something Mikel Arteta knows too well), Chelsea are confident they’ll sign him.
But on the off chance that this deal falls through, which could certainly happen given Chelsea’s efforts to balance the books, then Arsenal or Liverpool are the next best shouts.
In my opinion, Arsenal fans shouldn’t rely on this one too much. While I’m sure that Mikel Arteta is still interested and watching the situation, he is in no need to sign Caicedo. It must be said that there is no room for Caicedo in the starting eleven, which is obviously a nice problem to have. If anything, Caicedo would be a luxury signing, which I certainly wouldn’t turn my nose up at.
Where do you think Moises Caicedo will play next season?
