Kai Havertz scores again for Arsenal, the Gunners are looking deadly
Kai Havertz has scored his second goal from Arsenal following some brilliant build-up play from Bukayo Saka.
Saka redeemed a missed penalty earlier in the game, to produce a brilliant piece of play on the right-wing.
The English winger fended off the challenge of Marcos Alonso to lob a ball to the back post which was met by the head of Martin Odegaard before being turned in by Havertz.
The Premier League side have looked lively against Barcelona, with Saka in particular looking impressive.

The 21-year-old opened the scoring for Arsenal at SoFi Stadium to cancel out Robert Lewandowski’s opener.
A poor penalty later on from Saka meant the scores stayed level before a deflected Raphinha free-kicked gave the Spanish side the lead.
The younger Englishman had his head in his hands after drilling the penalty well-wide of Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s goal.

However, he made up for the miss with some brilliant play in the lead up to Havertz’ goal, with Arsenal’s midfield linking up well throughout.
The equaliser signals Havertz second goal since his signing from Chelsea and prompted some excitement among Arsenal fans.

One fan said: “Kai really comes alive as a player in the box. You almost don’t notice him until it comes to the finishing moment. Moves like a proper striker.”
Another wrote: “Havertz deserves that!”
A third quipped: “Chelsea fans you can go sleep now my boy Havertz scored.”

Arsenal new boy Kai Havertz failed to score a single goal during the Cross and Volley Challenge
Kai Havertz failed to impress during the Cross & Volley Challenge in Arsenal’s pre-season tour of the United States.
German international Havertz swapped Chelsea for Arsenal last month in a deal worth a reported £65 million.
After his debut for the club last week, his highlights went viral as he produced a rather underwhelming cameo against FC Nurnberg.
Now, the German’s performance in the MLS All-Stars Skills Challenge has gone viral. You can watch the footage below.

Havertz failed to score a single goal in the Cross & Volley challenge as he blazed a few attempts over the bar whilst also hitting the woodwork on a couple of occasions.
In comparison, Havertz’s teammate Folarin Balogun managed to score three times and DC United striker Christian Benteke also found the net.
Havertz then took part in the Touch Challenge, where he had to control a high ball before trying to score points by placing the ball in different buckets.
Despite scoring a respectable 86 points, Havertz’s performance was still a major talking point amongst fans on social media.
Ayo Arsenal got scammed
Gunners goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale spoke about Havertz during an interview with Kicker.
As per the Daily Mail, he said: “It’s a very good signing.
“Kai already has a lot of experience, he was captain in Leverkusen when he was very young. He’s an international player, has won the Champions League and scored in important games.”
Ramsdale continued: “He can play in different positions, which will help the team. He’s also a tall boy, so he can also help with set-piece situations, which shouldn’t be underestimated in modern football.”
Whilst Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admitted he isn’t sure about Havertz’s strongest position.
He said after the match against FC Nurnberg: “We will see. We have to see how he adapts and obviously get to know each other and build relationships.
“Football is about that and time will tell where he fits in best.”

Kai Havertz has hit back at critics after scoring his first goal for Arsenal against the MLS All-Stars.
Since signing for the club from Chelsea last month, Havertz has come under criticism after an underwhelming debut against FC Nurnberg.
Earlier in the week, Havertz was mocked after he failed to score a single goal during the MLS All-Stars Cross & Volley Challenge.
However, the German ironically opened his Arsenal account against the MLS All-Stars by scoring a brilliant volley to make it 5-0 to Mikel Arteta’s men.
On the back of his goal, Havertz took to social media to send a strong message to people that have been criticising him.
On Twitter, Havertz posted a picture of him scoring and wrote: “Hav that” alongside a target and a yawning emoji.
Havertz later replied to the tweet saying: “But in all seriousness.. Really nice feeling to get my first @arsenal goal! Thank you to the fans for the amazing support this week!”
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta spoke about Havertz’s versatility during his post-match press conference, he said: “I think, again, it’s one of the main qualities he has. He gives us something very different with his quality and size as well, when you have to beat the press for example and use him as a target man.
“So, we will see – for now, he’s playing in the attacking midfield position, but I’m sure throughout the season and throughout games as well, we’re going to have the options to play him in different positions.”
Arteta also hinted at the importance of new signings being bedded in as quickly as possible, he added: “We have to find that fluidity within the game, and those relationships. That’s something that is difficult to predict as a coach what’s going to work, but sometimes whether it’s on the pitch or sitting at the table, and they find that chemistry between them.”
Arsenal will take on Manchester United on Saturday before taking on Barcelona next Thursday.
MUTV commentator criticised for ‘unprofessional’ comments about Kai Havertz live on air
Arsenal midfielder Kai Havertz was described as “rubbish” by an MUTV commentator during Saturday night’s clash against Manchester United – and plenty of fans have reacted on social media.
First-half goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho sealed a relatively straightforward 2-0 win for Erik ten Hag’s men at the MetLife Stadium; their third consecutive win of pre-season.
A total of 82,262 fans were handed an entertaining affair in New Jersey. Fernandes celebrated becoming United’s permanent captain by opening the scoring with a left-footed strike that many felt Aaron Ramsdale should have kept out.
Lisandro Martinez then lived up to his no-nonsense approach to defending by taking out Bukayo Saka with a crunching tackle.
But one of the most talked-about moments during this weekend’s game happened in the commentary box, when former United winger Ben Thornley made some rather bold comments about German midfielder Kai Havertz.
With United two goals ahead in the 48th minute, Thornley said he would have taken off Havertz earlier because he was “rubbish” in the opening half.
Moments later and co-commentator Stewart Gardner asked, “What have you got against Kai Havertz?”
One fan said: “MUTV commentary is hilarious there’s no objectivity at all, one just went ‘They’ve taken off Havertz’ and the other went ‘Yeah because he’s rubbish’”.
A second commented: “MUTV commentator has been dunking on Havertz non stop.
A third wrote: “I’m not a Havertz fan but that’s utterly distasteful and unprofessional from those commentators,” while a fourth said: “MUTV commentators have really been unprofessional. The Havertz comments were unnecessary.”
A fifth added: “Havertz getting called ‘rubbish’ by MUTV’s official commentators is wild.”
The reported £65 million signing of Havertz from Chelsea this summer has been questioned by some, including former Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness, who didn’t hold back in his assessments.
Speaking to the Sky Bet Fan Hope Survey, he said: “I don’t think anyone would have spent £65m for Kai Havertz based on what we’ve seen from him over the last couple of years at Chelsea.
“Mikel Arteta must feel that he can improve Havertz because he wasn’t a £65m player last year.
“Maybe I’m being tough on him because he was in a struggling Chelsea team, but good players still turn up whether their team is struggling or not.”
Havertz, meanwhile, is hoping to achieve “lots of things” during his stay in North London.
After penning a long-term contract, he said: “The mentality in the Arsenal squad is very high and you can feel that. That was one of the reasons why it has been so hard to play against Arsenal recently.
“The aim is to win trophies and I’m going to give everything to do that for the supporters and everyone at the club. I’m now looking forward to meeting all the players and the staff when we come back for pre-season.”

Kai Havertz’ volleying prowess might not have been on point in the skill challenge but the German man was bang on the money as he opened his Arsenal account on Wednesday night.
The Gunners blitzed the MLS All-Stars, managed by Wayne Rooney, by a record 5-0 scoreline. Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring with a filthy chip from outside the area, before Leandro Trossard doubled the lead in the 23rd minute.
Jorginho converted a penalty just after half-time and then Martinelli and Havertz struck late on to complete the rout at Audi Field.
The £65 million signing from Chelsea produced the perfect response after being ridiculed for his below-par performance in various skill challenges.
The former Bayer Leverkusen man was scolded online after becoming the first player in history to record ZERO points in the “Cross and Volley” challenge.
Havertz hit the woodwork and blazed a number of efforts over the bar as teammates fizzed crosses in for him, while he didn’t exactly excel in the Touch Challenge which players also participated in.
But none of that mattered as Havertz proved he can in fact volley footballs into the net in the 89th minute against the MLS’ best crop of players.

Brazilian winger Marquinhos curled the ball to the far post and after it dropped over the head of a defender, Havertz chested the ball down and smashed home with his left foot.
He celebrated with his arms outstretched and was congratulated by his teammates, who looked delighted for him.
Jurrien Timber, a £34 million arrival from Ajax, impressed in his debut, while £105 million man Declan Rice was tidy as ever in a 25-minute cameo in the second half.

Havertz was also a second half substitute and was deployed on the left of a midfield three, though Mikel Arteta loves the versatility he possesses.
“He gives us something different with his quality and his height,” Arteta said, as per the BBC.
“For example, he can be the target man if we need to beat the press. He’s playing at the attacking midfield position for now but I’m sure throughout the season he’ll be used in different positions.”
