Michael Owen was left shocked by Kai Havertz shooting at thin air when he had an ample chance to open the scoring for Arsenal against Manchester United on Sunday at the Emirates.
After an exquisite first touch by Kai Havertz inside the box, his second kick of the ball, which was meant to test the Manchester United keeper, ended up with Lisandro Martinez clearing the ball away because the Arsenal star hardly got any contact on the ball.
Former England striker Owen couldn’t believe what he was seeing, as he stated that professional footballers just simply don’t do that and it’s something he hasn’t seen in ‘years and years’, as he told Premier League Productions (03/09/23 at 5:25 pm).

Out of all the Arsenal players, the last person that needed to happen to was Havertz because he was already getting stick for his performances and this just simply adds fuel to the fire – Ian Wright had reacted to his performance yesterday.

Pardon the pun, but don’t kick someone when they are down and, regardless of Arsenal winning and maintaining their unbeaten start, Havertz is still on the floor.
The German international is going to need picking up, sooner rather than later because, as of this moment, his form isn’t showing whilst Arsenal are winning.
If it starts to showcase its ugly head when his team start to drop points, then he will become a very easy target.
