Arsene wenger was bold to state that he believes that Arsenal can win the Premier league title this season

Jay Bothroyd has said that Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins would be a good signing for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

The Sky Sports pundit believes that Aston Villa and England international striker Ollie Watkins would be a good signing for Arsenal and would make the Gunners’ squad better.

Bothroyd has said that if Arsenal are unable to sign strikers such as Victor Osimhen of Napoli, then the North London club should move for Watkins.

Bothroyd said on Sky Sports: “I would bring Ollie Watkins to Arsenal. If I can’t get Osimhen and players like that, then I think he would be a good addition to the squad.”

Arsenal should look at strikers better than Ollie Watkins
We do not think that Arsenal should make a move for Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins in the January transfer window or in the summer of 2024.

In our view, the Gunners should aim for someone who is better and has more experience playing for elite clubs.

While Watkins has done well for Villa, he has not played for a truly ‘elite’ club who regularly challenge for league titles and compete in the UEFA Champions League.

If Arsenal are to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title season after season and also do well in the UEFA Champions League on a regular basis, then they should go for a truly world-class striker.

Watkins is not it.

The £75,000-a-week (Spotrac) striker has made 113 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

Watkins has scored 40 goals and given 15 assists in those games.

Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title this season and will also be keen on reaching the latter rounds of the UEFA Champions League.
