‘EVERYDAY’: DECLAN RICE DELIVERS HIS HONEST TAKE ON WHAT KAI HAVERTZ IS LIKE IN ARSENAL TRAINING

Declan Rice has bigged up Kai Havertz after he scored his first goal for Arsenal following their 4-0 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

It has been a rocky road for Arsenal’s summer signing from Chelsea, but the sun was shining on the 24-year-old on the South Coast yesterday.

Declan Rice labelled the German as ‘really special’ and how he ‘works his socks off every day in training’, as he told Arsenal’s official website.

With Mikel Arteta’s side leading 2-0 at the break, seven minutes into the second half, the away side was awarded another penalty, and rather than Martin Odegaard taking it again, the reigns were handed to Kai Havertz.

So many thoughts and emotions would have been going through the head of the previously under-fire player.

But once that ball hit the back of the net, no one would have been more relieved inside Dean Court than Kai Havertz himself.

Declan Rice hails Kai Havertz
“It was emotional for the fans, for Kai (Havertz) and for everyone involved,” said Rice. “We want him to succeed so much.

“Honestly, he works his socks off every day in training. In the games, he gives absolutely everything. He had chances to score this year. Hasn’t scored, but today, to slot away a penalty in that high-pressure moment, shows the mindset and talent he has got.

“I think his all-round performance today was really special. I am so happy for him.”

The start for Kai Havertz?
Man of the Match and a goal. It’s easy handing the verbal beatings to Havertz when he isn’t playing well, but he also deserves the praise when he puts in strong performances.

He just needed something to run with. A goal or a MOTM display, well, he has two in one here.

And it will be interesting to see how the versatile forward uses this because it could be the start of his Arsenal career really taking off.
