Arsenal could have their own Dusan Vlahovic revenge mission as Mikel Arteta eyes Juventus’ perfect Paul Pogba replacement.
Back in January 2022, Arsenal were targeting Fiorentina striker Vlahovic.
However, the Gunners were beaten to his signature by Juventus, who ended up signing the striker for a reported fee of £66.6 million.
Now, with the January transfer window on the horizon, Arsenal could finally get their revenge on Juventus over the failed transfer of Vlahovic.

According to TEAMtalk, Juventus are bracing themselves for competition from England as they look to sign Ukrainian midfielder Georgiy Sudakov, who has been tipped to be Juventus’ replacement for Pogba, who could be set for a lengthy ban after a failed drug test.
It has been reported that the Turin club have already made contact with Shakhtar Donetsk over a potential deal for Sudakov, but they are about to be joined by a host of Premier League clubs.
The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Brighton are all said to be keeping tabs on the 21-year-old.

Arsenal has reportedly been interested in Sudakov for a while, dating back to their scouting of winger Mykhailo Mudryk.
Champions City are said to be impressed by Sudakov and are keen to add the attacking midfielder to their ranks.
Whilst Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi has already worked with the player when the Italian was the manager of Shakhtar.

Finally, Chelsea’s interest reportedly stemmed from Mudryk, who talked him up as a player the Stamford Bridge club should be looking at.

Paul Pogba ‘could have Juventus contract terminated’ after ‘failing backup doping test’
Juventus could reportedly terminate Paul Pogba’s contract after the midfielder failed his backup doping test.
Last month, it was first reported that Pogba tested positive following Juventus’ 3-0 win over Udinese on August 20.
At the time, it was claimed that a second test sample would be checked in order to determine a definitive result.

A statement from doping agency Nado Italia said: “In acceptance of the instance proposed by the National Anti-doping Prosecutor, it has provided for the provisional suspension of the athlete Paul Labile Pogba.
Whilst Juventus released their own statement, which read: “Juventus Football Club announces that today the player Paul Labile Pogba received a precautionary suspension order from the National Anti-Doping Tribunal following the adverse outcome of the analysis carried out on August 20, 2023. The Company reserves the right to evaluate the next procedural steps.”
On Friday afternoon, as reported by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Pogba’s second test came up positive.
The positive result is for DHEA – which can raise levels of testosterone, not testosterone itself.

The substances Pogba has used will now be tested to find out how it got into his body.
Romano wrote on social media: “BREAKING: Paul Pogba has tested doping positive also to backup sample today.
“Juventus will now decide how to proceed with his contract as Pogba faces risk of long-term ban.”

According to Sport Witness, Juventus are looking at the possibility of terminating Pogba’s contract.
Recently speaking about Pogba’s situation, Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri said: “I didn’t know about the confirmation, I am sorry,” Juventus boss Allegri said at a press conference.“We are waiting for what’s coming next, it’s useless to comment now. Humanly, I am sorry.”
It has been reported that if Pogba is found guilty, he could face a ban of between two and four years.

Paul Pogba has been told he needs to RETIRE with Juventus star now facing ‘four-year ban’
Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been advised to retire from football if he receives a four-year ban from the sport.
Pogba tested positive for the banned substance testosterone after Juventus’ Serie A fixture against Udinese on August 20.
The midfielder’s representative, Rafaela Pimenta, subsequently told Sky Sports: “We are waiting for the counter analysis and until then we can’t say anything.
“The certain thing is that Paul Pogba never wanted to break the rules.”

Following reports of the positive test, the Italian anti-doping agency, Nado Italia, announced that Pogba was provisionally suspended with immediate effect.
A counter-analysis sample has since been checked which, according to Fabrizio Romano, has returned a positive result.

Meanwhile, according to Sport Witness, Juventus are considering terminating the 2018 World Cup winner’s contract.

Speaking last month, former Arsenal and France midfielder Emmanuel Petit claimed Pogba should retire if he is hit with a lengthy ban from football.
He told Betway (quotes via Goal): “Paul Pogba should definitely retire if he is given a four-year ban.
“When you are suspended for that long, you can’t even come to the training ground.

“That leaves you going to the gym or the park with no team-mates, no balls, nothing. Four years for a 30-year-old player is a long time.”
Petit then went on to claim: “His time at Manchester United didn’t end well, and in France, we think he’s been a disaster since then.
“Forget football, forget money, it’s been a disaster for him. He’s completely destroyed. He’s nothing like the Pogba we used to know.”

Juventus fans have turned on Paul Pogba since his move from Manchester United following his latest Instagram post.
It’s safe to say his move back to Italy has not gone to plan so far, given he hasn’t played a minute for the Old Lady as of yet due to injury.
Having finally escaped United, a move that was seen as mutually beneficial for both sides, United have strengthened with Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, while Juventus are yet to see their former star kick a ball in a black and white shirt.
Furthermore, considering he’s out with a thigh injury strain, fans have been less than impressed by his latest Instagram post which sees Pogba at a ski resort, taking a selfie; we’re sure Graeme Souness is absolutely seething wherever he is.

The World Cup winner missed out on the chance to help his France side retain their title as world champions, and considering there’s no official date on his return, Juve fans appear to be beginning to get more and more aggrieved at the decision to spend big wages on an injury-prone midfielder who has barely played in recent years.
While he enjoyed a successful spell the first time around in Italy – featuring in the Serie A Team of the Year three years in a row – that young, confident and highly-talented player seems a distant memory and all we can do is wait and see if any glimpses of the old Pogba are still there after all this time.
Clearly one Juventus supporter was already over Pogba: “Was never a fan of his since he left us for you guys. You want him back? We throw in a bag of skips.”
Another Juve fan added: “Not fit enough to play but well enough to ski.”
One United fan dropped by to comment about knowing the struggles with Pogba: “No way you lot are finally realising!”
While another commented: “So glad he’s not at United anymore!”
Juve fans will have plenty of time to deal with their Pogba issues, given he’s contracted until 2026, but the longer he remains out of action, the more the tension will build.

Never mind the fact he will need time to get back to full sharpness and form, as well as get used to a whole new team and league on top of that – it’s certainly the start of a long road back for the Frenchman.

Chelsea ‘tell Juventus they can pick five players’ in swap deal for Dusan Vlahovic
Chelsea have told Juventus that they can choose from five Blues players as part of a swap deal for Dusan Vlahovic, according to a new report.
The Serbian forward signed for Juve in January 2022, amid heavy interest from Arsenal.
He scored 10 goals to 27 games this season to help the Italian giants to a points tally that would have seen them finish in fourth place in Serie A under normal circumstances.
However, the club were handed a 10-point deduction after being found guilty of capital gains violations. The punishment meant they finished in seventh, missing out on the Champions League and instead qualifying for Europa Conference League football next season.
As a result, there has been speculation over the future of some of Juve’s key players. And with Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea in need of a central striker, they have been linked with a move for Vlahovic.
Chelsea ‘offer five players to Juventus’
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia), Juve have set an asking price of €80 million (around £68.7 million) to sell the 23-year-old.
The report claims that the Italian side have been told that they can pick from a list of five Chelsea players in a part-exchange deal plus cash for Vlahovic.
It is reported that academy graduates Trevoh Chalobah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are both on the list, as well as United States winger Christian Pulisic.
Meanwhile, centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, who only joined the club from fellow Serie A side Napoli last summer, is also said to be an option for Juve to choose.
And the fifth and final name is striker Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan and played in the Champions League final defeat to Manchester City.
Chelsea shelled out a club-record fee of £97.5 million to sign the Belgian from Inter in 2021, with Lukaku going on to net 15 goals in all competitions last term before being deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
The Daily Mail claimed earlier this week that the Blues were expected to tell Lukaku that they were happy to work with him next season – but that the player himself was expected to say that he wants to leave.
