Arsenal have been urged by supporters to make a deal for Napoli star Victor Osimhen their priority in the January transfer window. It comes as the Gunners continue to be linked with a move for a striker in the coming months, with hopes of bringing them closer to winning the Premier League title.

The north London outfit currently find themselves top of the table after 13 matches played, looking to go one step further from last campaign where they narrowly missed out to Manchester City late on. Mikel Arteta managed to transform his squad from top four challengers to title contenders.

A summer of heavy investment followed as the club-record transfer fee was shattered to land Declan Rice from West Ham for £105million. The England international has impressed so far, taking on that role of a “lighthouse” that his new manager asked for him early on.

Kai Havertz was another through the door and despite his critics, he has had some key moments in games that have helped win some points. Jurrien Timber’s season was unfortunately ended early through injury, while David Raya has joined the ranks to offer goalkeeping competition, despite some skepticism.

While it hasn’t been as fluid as the campaign prior, Arsenal are leading the way and have control of games, something they hope will evolve them into title winners. January could prove to be a make or break period, once the transfer window rolls around, with some key decisions to be made.

One of those to contemplate will be on the desire for a goal scorer up front, with questions surrounding whether Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah will be enough to guide the side towards a title. For the supporters, they’ve made their thoughts clear over the player that should be targeted, and that’s Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian international has impressed for the Azzurri, but with just over one-year remaining on his contract, it appears as though an exit could be on the cards. Those supporters believe he could be the difference for Arsenal, taking to social media to give their thoughts on a deal in January.

@EduardoHagn: “Victor Osimhen, one-year left on his contract this upcoming summer. No signs of renewing, yet. Arsenal have had strong interest in recent years. The competition will be fierce, but we do have one of the best projects in football.”

@MerrickOluSpeakL: “If this can happen, Arsenal will win champions league.”

@faloladare19: “He is the right player we need at the moment. There is nothing to discuss. @victorosimhen9 is one of the best striker in the world. He just came from the injury yesterday and assisted Napoli 2nd goal yesterday. He is a complete striker.”

@stealurheart_: “Could be a great signing but this lad obviously will cost load of money. I don’t think we have enough cash, so club should know how to spend it wisely.”

@LiamCrook1: “Has done very well in Italy, a profile we need, he’s going to cost alot of money and if we get him in I hope he fits in like a glove but like Rice has done.”

@spanishalex85: “A front line of Saka, Osimhen & Martinelli has the chance to go down as one of the best of all time.”
