BREAKING: Arsenal confirms near signing of Victor Osimhen and will join Arsenal in january

Arsenal have identified Victor Osimhen as their main striker target, LondonWorld understands. The Gunners are actively seeking to add a proven goalscorer to their ranks, with Osimhen keen on making a move to the Premier League next summer.

Osimhen, 24, has established himself as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers during his time at Napoli and guided the Italian giants to their first Serie A title last season.

He broke the 30 goal barrier last season and with his contract running until the summer of 2025, is currently valued at around £125million.

However, Arsenal likely face competition from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United for Osimhen’s signature.

“I don’t have a favourite Premier League team but I’ve two jerseys: Chelsea and Man United. Many friends of mine are Chelsea fans, few are Man United fans,” he told The Obi One Podcast

“Premier League is the most appreciated league by every African player – it’s a huge league.”

Napoli president Aurelio de De Laurentiis has also admitted in recent weeks that Osimhen’s departure could be on the card soon.

“I have never been unhappy towards Osimhen, but there are always two of us in these things. I have remained the same, if his mood has changed [over a new deal] I can’t do anything about it.

“If things change after a handshake, it’s disappointing, we take note of it but then life goes on. There are excellent relations with him, the contract expires in 2025, there is time. Don’t forget that I sold Koulibaly [to Chelsea] a year before his contract expired.”

Mikel Arteta’s side have also monitored Brentford striker Ivan Toney who will return from suspension in January.

Toney is valued at around £80million by the Bees, with Chelsea also said to be considering a January move for the England frontman.

With 18 months left on his Brentford contract, Thomas Frank admitted the forward’s future is impossible to predict right now.

“He [Toney] is happy at the club,” Frank said.

“I want him to stay. Ivan is happy to stay. He’s happy at the club. What happens in the future is impossible to guess about.”
