Ian Wright got a little emotional when he saw the Arsenal players wearing shirts designed by himself ahead of their 2-1 win over Wolves.
To mark the Arsenal legend’s 60th birthday, both the club and Adidas, allowed Ian Wright to design an Arsenal training top of his liking.
The former striker decided to incorporate memories of his career onto that shirt, including his former captain Tony Adams, as well as another club legend and late friend, the great David ‘Rocky’ Rocastle.
So, when Ian Wright saw the Arsenal players warming up in a training top he designed before kick-off yesterday, he stated ‘I think I am going to cry’, as he told Premier League Productions (02/12/23 at 2:20 pm).
It perhaps inspired Arsenal to victory because Mikel Arteta’s side secured all three points to extend their lead at the top of the table to four points – Ian Wright raved about Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.

“It’s a beautiful gesture from Arsenal for by 60th birthday,” said Wright. “That shirt is just different patches of my Arsenal career, my Arsenal moments and my friends.
“David Seaman is on there. Kelly Smith. David Rocastle. Tony Adams. Just little moments of my career and how it went. The club have been amazing. For them to do that, alongside Adidas, it’s just a dream come through.
“And now the team is warming up in them, I think I am going to cry.”

Regardless of the result of Manchester City’s home tie against Tottenham on Sunday, Arsenal will remain top of the Premier League table.
But this is where things become very, very interesting.
It’s now the start of a very busy festive period, including a three-game week.
Arsenal travel to Luton on Tuesday night, before a trip to the Midlands to take on high-flying Aston Villa, with Brighton and Liverpool following up before Christmas.
If the Gunners come out of those matches with maximum points, then their lead at the top of the table, just like last season, could be very, very strong.
