One of the men who was handed a start was Eddie Nketiah and he rewarded his manager by scoring the first Champions League goal of his career.
A natural goalscorer and a poacher in the penalty area, that’s another player from Arsenal’s Hale-End academy who is shining bright on European football’s biggest stage.
After the game, Eddie Nketiah expressed his delight on Instagram at scoring his first UCL goal by adding that he is now ‘looking forward to the knockout rounds’.
In the comments section of the 24-year-old’s IG post, several players were left impressed by the Arsenal hitman, including his former teammate Alexandre Lacazette.
The Lyon forward sent several fire emojis to the player, as well as applauding his efforts.
