Jose Mourinho has revealed the best XI of players he has managed in his career, and Arsenal old-boy Mesut Ozil has made it on the list.
The Special One is still going strong and is currently doing a fantastic job at AS Roma. Mourinho is one of the greatest managers the game has ever seen, and his best-ever XI, including stars from Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Arsenal is a star-studded one.

Jose Mourinho names Mesut Ozil in his best-ever XI
Arsenal signed Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013, and he was a fan favourite for most of his time at the Emirates.
The German is up there with the greatest playmakers in the history of the game. His vision is probably the best ever, and it’s a shame that he didn’t win more than he did.
Ozil announced his retirement from football earlier this year. He brought an end to a fantastic career, but people who watched him play still remember just how good he was.
Jose Mourinho has had the privilege of managing some of the greatest players in the world. The list of footballers he has coached is simply unbelievable, but when he was asked to pick a team of his best-ever players, he named Ozil in the middle of the park.
Here’s Mourinho’s best-ever XI as named by the man himself on John Obi-Mikel’s podcast: Cech, Gallas, Carvalho, Terry, Zanetti, Makelele, Lampard, Ozil, Hazard, Drogba, Ronaldo

Mesut Ozil’s Arsenal career came to a sad end
When Mesut Ozil was in full flow at Arsenal, he was a joy to watch.
The German played a big part in helping Arsenal end their trophy drought in his first-ever season. He gave Gunners fans a ton of memories, but his career at the Emirates came to a disappointing end.
Ozil fell out with Mikel Arteta and was banished from the Arsenal squad. He spent months out of the side before agreeing to be released on a free transfer in January 2021.
The 35-year-old still receives love from Arsenal fans. He remains a Gooner to this day and has an occasional pop at Tottenham on social media every now and then.
