Fabrizio Romano shares what he’s heard about Arsenal signing Ivan Toney in January

Ivan Toney to Arsenal is one of the most talked about potential transfers ahead of the January transfer window this time around.

Toney is expected to leave Brentford, despite only being able to return and play from the end of January onwards.

The England striker has been banned but has been training. A number of clubs are interested in signing him as well, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham all among the teams keen. Abroad, Real Madrid are also believed to hold an interest.

But it is Arsenal who keep getting the biggest mention. And speaking about the situation today, Fabrizio Romano has provided some information on the potential deal.

Romano gives Ivan Toney to Arsenal update
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano had the following to say when it came to Toney to Arsenal.

“For Arsenal, this could be from what I’ve heard, the preference on the player’s side. So [Ivan] Toney would be excited about the possibility of joining Arsenal but it depends on many factors.

“Can they make it happen, how is the situation with Financial Fair Play, is there a possible deal in the January transfer window or is it something for the summer? Arsenal are still discussing this internally before attacking the situation but for sure Ivan Toney is one of the players they’re discussing internally. It’s going to be one of the situations to watch.”

Toney wins Arsenal the title
There is no doubt Arsenal are right on the cusp of being title winners this season and the only thing missing is a top number nine.

If they could somehow land the ‘remarkable‘ Ivan Toney then it will make all the difference. The Gunners have a bit of everything in their attack but the one thing they lack is someone with height and power like Toney.

Yes, he might cost around £80m if they do want to sign him, although some reports have suggested a deal nearer £60m might be doable.

But that will be money well spent and Toney will surely fire Arsenal to title glory if he signs.
