‘Brilliant’ Arsenal player could now feature at Liverpool after training return
It looks as though Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny could be available for the Gunners in their Premier League trip to Liverpool.
The 31-year-old Arsenal ace made his first start of the season just under two weeks ago, featuring against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.
However, Elneny had to come off in the 62nd minute after injuring his hamstring, with Martin Odegaard taking his place.
Luckily, it hasn’t proven to be a long layoff. On Friday, Arsenal published pictures of their players in training, and Elneny could be spotted in the session.
Prior to Friday’s session at Colney, Arteta told the Arsenal media team that he hoped Elneny could join in training. As that has proven the case, it suggests he could be available against Liverpool.
Arsenal handed boost as Mohamed Elneny returns to Gunners training
With Thomas Partey still out and Jorginho a doubt for the match, it’s good to see Elneny back in training and potentially available for Arteta to name in his squad.
The Egypt international has been an important member of Arteta’s squad over the years. He has brought the right attitude to the dressing room and has done well when called upon.
However, Elneny has sadly suffered from injuries as well in recent years. He missed most of last season due to thigh problems and a knee injury, and only returned to action in September this year.
Hopefully these issues are now fully behind him and the ‘brilliant‘ talent can contribute to Arsenal in their pursuit of silverware this term.
The Gunners are firmly in the race for the Premier League title, in the last 16 of the Champions League, and will enter the FA Cup at the third-round stage in January. So there’s plenty to fight for.
