Arsenal have dropped a potential early team news hint as they prepare for a huge game against Liverpool on Saturday evening. The Gunners make the trip to Anfield in search of another three points that will firmly secure their place at the top of the Premier League table.

The advantage currently lies with them, having won 12 of their opening 17 games and sitting in first ahead of a few of their rivals. Aston Villa follow shortly after, with Unai Emery’s team impressing, but with an extra game played after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Sheffield United on Friday night.

Liverpool sit in third, holding that game in hand over the Villains, but knowing that all three points against Arsenal would be required to retake top. Current champions Manchester City sit in fourth after a turbulent start to their campaign, with an extra game in hand after their game with Brentford was postponed due to their involvement in the Club World Cup.

In all, it’s shaping up to be an enticing title fight, which makes the tussle for points in those head-to-head games even more important. When discussing the pre-match preparation, head coach Mikel Arteta said on the Liverpool clash: “Every game is different, they have a really particular way of playing like Brighton have, like Villa had and every game is prepared in a different way.

“The atmosphere is important to understand but we have the experience now, what we did last year as well for big parts of the game and that is lots of things we have to replicate and other things we have to do better to win tomorrow.”

One of the key decisions facing the manager will be surrounding his choice of forward options within his team when it comes time to select it. Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus have been the preferred trio, but with bench options such as Emile Smith Rowe, Leandro Trossard and Eddie Nketiah, there’s the possibility of some tweaks.

However, Arsenal may have already hinted at one of the three starting positions as they posted a pre-match hype graphic on social media with the main focus on Gabriel Jesus. It could suggest he will start, especially given his impressive form, though that isn’t guaranteed.

It remains to be seen just how well Arsenal fair in such a huge game, but a win could take them one step closer to achieving that title dream.
