Well, Arsenal are on the hunt for a new striker in the January transfer window. The Gunners want to win the Premier League title this season, and manager Mikel Arteta reportedly thinks that bringing in a new frontman is key.
Both Ivan Toney and Dominic Solanke have been linked with the Gunners, although Brentford manager Thomas Frank does not want to sell the former.
The Daily Star reported earlier this month that Arsenal’s main target in January is Brentford and England international striker Toney.
But, according to the report, the Gunners do not want to pay over the odds for the former Newcastle United prospect and have identified Solanke of Bournemouth as a potential alternative.
Former Chelsea striker and BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton has given his take on the rumours, explaining why Arsenal should bid for Solanke and not for Toney.

Sutton told BBC Sport: “There’s been plenty of talk already about how manager Mikel Arteta needs to sign another striker in January.
“Brentford’s Ivan Toney has been linked for a while, but he has not played for months because of his suspension. He will have been training, but how much match sharpness does he have?
“Arsenal are trying to win the title, so they haven’t got time to wait for anyone to get up to speed. If we are looking at the names that are supposedly within their grasp, Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke stands out as the best candidate.”
My View: Arsenal need to think twice about signing Dominic Solanke
In my view, Arsenal should not rush into making a bid for former Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke in the January transfer window.
Yes, Solanke is in very good form at the moment. He recently scored a hat-trick against Nottingham Forest.
Described as a “complete” striker by his Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola, Solanke has scored 12 goals and given one assist in 18 Premier League matches so far this season.
However, according to The Daily Star, Bournemouth want £50 million for the striker they paid Liverpool £19 million. That is a lot of money to spend on a 26-year-old striker who has scored just 22 goals in 114 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
Arsenal need to think beyond this season as well. I do not think that the North London club should concentrate on just winning the Premier League title this campaign. They have to look at the coming years as well.
