‘He had reservations’: £53m player isn’t sure he’d develop properly if he signed for Arsenal
By all accounts, Martin Zubimendi is a player Arsenal really like.
According to David Ornstein, the Gunners truly love the midfielder, and, in an ideal world, they’d be able to sign him at some point.
However, according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on The Done Deal Show, the £53m man is far from convinced by the idea of heading to the Emirates.
Jacobs says that Zubimendi has had reservations about Arsenal for a little while now in terms of whether or not a move to north London would be the right thing for his development.

Zubimendi has Arsenal concerns
Jacobs shared what he knows about the midfielder.
“Zubimendi I’m not sure about, he had reservations about moving to Arsenal for his development, and I’m not sure if mid-season would be possible because Real Sociedad are doing really well in Europe,” Jacobs said.
Why is Zubimendi worried?
We can’t quite get our heads around why Zubimendi would be worried about a move to Arsenal of all places.
For a player tipped up to be the next Sergio Busquets, a move to Arsenal to work under Mikel Arteta and his quasi-Pep Guardiola style would be perfect.

Let’s be real, he wouldn’t face too hard of a time displacing Kai Havertz in this Arsenal midfield at the moment, and Mikel Arteta has always been open to giving young players time and trust to grow.
There’s clearly something that Zubimendi doesn’t quite like about Arsenal, but from the outside looking in, it’s hard to see why he doesn’t think he’d be able to develop properly with the Gunners.
Arsenal have done such a fantastic job developing the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba, but, Zubimendi seemingly doesn’t think that Arsenal is the right place for him to go to reach the next level.
Arsenal may have to look elsewhere for their next midfield signing.
