The Premier League have confirmed FFP punishments for Everton and Nottingham Forest.
The Premier League have made an announcement regarding how clubs have fared in complying with the profit and sustainability regulations (PSR). All 20 clubs were required to submit their accounts for the 2022/23 season by December 31.
It emerged that Everton and Nottingham Forest were the two clubs most likely to be sanctioned for financial breaches. Under PSR, teams are allowed losses of up to £105m over a rolling three-year period or £35m-per-season.
The Premier League confirmed today that both clubs, Everton for the second time, have been charged with breach of profit and sustainability rules.
The seriousness of complying with the financial rules was demonstrated by Everton in November. The Toffees were given a 10-point deduction for a single PSR breach, which has left Sean Dyche’s side a point above the relegation zone, though Everton have appealed the punishment.

Forest recruited an unprecedented number of players during the summer of 2022, having secured Premier League promotion via the play-offs. The East Midlands side still signed a sizable number of players in the most recent summer window, but aimed to offset their spending through the sale of Brennan Johnson to Tottenham Hotspur.
An added layer to Forest’s situation is that during some of the accounting period, the club were still in the Championship, where the level of allowable losses are reduced, compared to the top-flight. However, another remains ongoing in the background.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs that will be continually assessing what PSR sanctions could mean for Manchester City. The reigning champions were charged with 115 financial breaches by the Premier League, last February, but the process is ongoing and Man City deny the allegations.
