However, according to journalist Adrian Sanchez, Laporta is a massive fan of Arteta, with the Barcelona president viewing the Arsenal manager as a potential replacement for Xavi.

The Barcelona legend is under increasing pressure in Catalonia with the reigning La Liga title holders currently eight points off the top, with Girona leading the pack.
