Rio Ferdinand now shares who he thinks will win the Premier League this season
Rio Ferdinand has backed Manchester City to win the Premier League over the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa this season.
Liverpool moved five points clear of both Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola’s sides on Sunday with a 4-0 win at Bournemouth.
Arsenal also returned to their best form on Saturday with a 5-0 win over Crystal Palace, leaving Arteta’s side level on points with the reigning champions.
The Gunners were going through a tough patch of form over the festive period and new year but put themselves right back in the mix with an emphatic win over the weekend.
Of course, City have also welcomed back star man Kevin De Bruyne and the Belgian returned to action with a dazzling display from the bench against Newcastle last time out.
And while City are yet to discover their best form this season, Rio Ferdinand believes they will comfortably regain their crown.

Speaking on The Obi One Podcast, Ferdinand sat down with former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.

The Manchester United legend was asked if he thinks City will pick up their fourth consecutive title this term.
“Yeah, comfortable,” he responded.

Despite their slow start, City do tend to come into their own towards the business end of the season.
They have also welcomed back De Bruyne and we’ve already seen the kind of impact he can have after his display in the 3-2 win over Newcastle.
It’s hard to look past the Citizens at the moment as they are capable of putting a flawless run of form together.
Nevertheless, Liverpool seem to be getting better by the week and Arsenal answered their critics in some style on Saturday.
As for Aston Villa, Unai Emery’s side can’t be ruled out at this stage as they also sit level on points with Arsenal and City.
With four teams currently in the mix, this could be one of the most memorable title races in recent history.
