The University of Warwick is a leading research-intensive university that ranks among the top 10 in the UK and the top 100 in the world. Warwick offers a wide range of undergraduate courses across various disciplines, such as arts, humanities, social sciences, engineering, mathematics, medicine, and business. The University of Warwick Global Excellence Scholarship is a prestigious and generous scheme that aims to attract and reward the best and brightest students from different countries and backgrounds to study at Warwick. The scholarship is open to all international students who apply for a full-time undergraduate course at Warwick starting in Autumn 2024.
The scholarship is worth £1.5 million in total, and it will be distributed among 180 successful applicants. The scholarship will cover either the full tuition fee, half of the tuition fee, or £2,000 per year, depending on the level of award. The scholarship will be renewable for the duration of the course, subject to satisfactory academic progress and attendance.
The scholarship is highly competitive and selective, and it will be based on academic merit, potential, and excellence. The scholarship committee will consider the following criteria when assessing the applications:
- The academic performance and qualifications of the applicants, including their grades, subjects, and level of study.
- The academic references and recommendations from the applicants’ teachers, tutors, or mentors.
- The personal statement and the answer to the question “What makes you excellent?” that the applicants will submit as part of the scholarship application.
- The relevance and suitability of the chosen course of study to the applicants’ academic interests, goals, and aspirations.
- The contribution and impact that the applicants can make to the Warwick community and the wider society, through their academic, extracurricular, and personal achievements.

How to Apply
If you are interested and qualified for the University of Warwick Global Excellence Scholarship 2024, you will need to follow these steps:
- Apply for a full-time undergraduate course at the University of Warwick before the UCAS application deadline of 31 January 2024. You can find out more about the courses, entry requirements, and application process on the Warwick website.
- Wait for an email from Warwick with details on how to formally apply for the scholarship. You will receive this email only if you are eligible for the scholarship, based on your nationality, fee status, and course of study. You should expect to receive this email by mid-February 2024.
- Complete and submit the online scholarship application form before 12:00pm on Wednesday, 20 March 2024 BST. You will need to provide some personal and academic information, and answer the question “What makes you excellent?” in no more than 400 words. You can write in essay or extended bullet point form, but please do not write a list. You should provide context and relevance to the objectives of the scholarship, and you should not copy your personal statement. - Receive an offer of a place to study at Warwick by 16 May 2024. You will need to meet the academic and English language requirements of your chosen course, and you will need to accept your offer by the deadline specified by UCAS. - Wait for the scholarship decision by 30 June 2024. You will be notified by email whether you have been awarded the scholarship or not. The scholarship committee will select the recipients based on the criteria mentioned above, and their decision will be final and binding.
