Everton fans were spotted travelling to Scotland, looking to support Toffees legend Duncan Ferguson as Inverness Caledonian Thistle drew 1-1 with Dundee United on Saturday (23 March).

Ferguson’s Caley Thistle side are battling for survival in the Scottish Championship, currently in the relegation qualification spot below Ayr United.

Due to the international break, the Toffees do not have another Premier League match scheduled until Saturday 30 March, inspiring one set of Evertononians to support their former manager, who also played for the club.

Despite taking the lead after 12 minutes, United pegged the visitors back in the second half, leaving Caley Thistle three points from safety.

Football Away Days took to X on Saturday (23 March) to share the image, which showed the supporters displaying a flag with their Everton allegiance.

With Ferguson currently in his second managerial spell since leaving his coaching role at Everton in January 2022, it was an extremely nice gesture for a group of Toffees fans to support their former star across the border.

Considering that only four points separate Everton and Nottingham Forest in the relegation zone, both parties are in similar positions but will remain hopeful that survival can be obtained.

Sean Dyche already led the club to safety last season, with Frank Lampard having achieved the same feat in the campaign before, which would suggest that Everton are more than capable of an escape now.

Three points above Luton Town, and four points above Forest, Everton are in a comfortable position, but only for so long. Matches against Bournemouth, Burnley, Forest, Brentford and Luton should prove vital in the run-in to the end of the season.

Dyche certainly has enough talent at his disposal, especially in defence with Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski. Everton are still able to boast the joint-fourth-best defensive record in the division, bettered only by Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.
