Everton news: Sean Dyche sack plan revealed – sources
Everton’s prospective owners 777 Partners are planning to sack Sean Dyche if and when their takeover of the club is completed, sources have told Football Insider.
The US-based group struck a takeover agreement with chairman Farhad Moshiri in September last year (2023), but concerns over their sources of funding have delayed Premier League approval.
It is believed they want a new manager who can get fans excited about the team if they are to take the reins at Goodison Park.
Sources say the Toffees’ potential buyers don’t want a “firefighter” – a tag Dyche has earned for his shrewd work on Merseyside since taking the job in January 2023.
The former Burnley boss succeeded Frank Lampard and could navigate the club away from relegation for two consecutive seasons.

Dyche has Everton sitting 16th in the table, two points above the drop zone with seven games to play – despite seeing seven points deducted in the 2023-24 campaign.
He has also performed despite severe financial constraints in the transfer market.
Dyche is under contract at Everton until June 2025.

But 777 are keen to make a change in the hot seat if their takeover finally gets approval from the Premier League.
According to investigative outlet Josimar (23 March), the US-based group must convert more than £300million worth of loans into equity and provide proof of funding for the stadium – as well as funds for this season’s running costs – before the deal is green-lit.
Everton are next in action against Chelsea on 15 April.
