Everton suffered a humiliating 6-0 defeat against Chelsea on Monday night (15 April) at Stamford Bridge.
The Toffees, who were playing their first match since receiving a two-point deduction, were 4-0 down at half-time. Cole Palmer netted a hat trick and added another in the second half. Substitute Alfie Gilchrist netted his first goal for the club as the Blues picked up all three points.

It was a shocking performance from the Toffees, with the midfield absolutely non-existent. Jamie Carragher said on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports that Amadou Onana has been doing nothing for the club and could be sold due to the club’s perilous financial situation.
The 22-year-old Belgian midfielder has started in 21 league games for the club, scoring two goals. Carragher thinks his role at the club is undefined and that he is not contributing enough, unlike James Garner, who has impressed under Sean Dyche.
“Onana is a player Everton may have to sell in the summer in terms of the situation they find themselves financially. He came with a huge reputation. Frank Lampard brought him,” said Carragher.
“I don’t see it, at Everton since he has been. I don’t know what he is – a holding midfielder? Does he get forward? Does he get involved? The only thing I see him do is lifting his hands to try raise the crowd.”
Everton find themselves in a complete mess
The Toffees fans deserve better. For the past few seasons, they have been very poor and are battling for survival every season. This cannot go on forever. Off the pitch, the club have faced a point deduction twice in a season, and there are fears that they could go into administration.
The 777 Partners keep extending their loan repayment deadlines and have yet to receive a green signal from the Premier League regarding a takeover. The club are perilously close to the relegation zone once again, and the fans do not deserve to see their team getting battered like this away from home.
Everton have some big games coming up at home, and they have to win those games to stay up for another season.
