Everton: ‘Sloppy’ Amadou Onana could be sold for big fee despite poor Goodison form

Amadou Onana could still be sold for a big fee by Everton this summer despite his “poor” recent form, according to James Nalton.

Writing on the Forbes website on Tuesday (16 April), the journalist said the Belgian international moving on could be a “win-win” for the Toffees if they can receive a “substantial” sum of money for a player who isn’t making much of a difference at Goodison Park.

He admitted that it’s not immediately apparent why the 22-year-old is so highly rated as he can appear to be sloppy in possession, make the wrong decisions and slow down attacks, adding that some of the midfielder’s performances reflect the frustrating situation the Blues currently find themselves in.

Could Amadou Onana leave Everton this summer?
It’s starting to look more and more likely as though Onana will leave Everton this summer given the interest in him from other clubs.

His situation is a bit of a strange one because, while he does possess a lot of ability, he simply hasn’t been showing it for the Toffees lately.

That wasn’t the case in the latest international break, where he put in an excellent performance for Belgium in their 2-2 draw against England at Wembley on 26 March.
