Sam Allardyce says West Ham have made ‘one of the best signings ever in the Premier League’

West Ham United are enjoying a decent season in the Premier League, certainly compared to last year.

The Hammers are currently eighth in the table, on 48 points from 33 games, and still have some hopes of qualifying for Europe.

West Ham are just two points adrift of Newcastle and Manchester United, who are sixth and seventh respectively.

The Hammers are also still in the Europa League, although they’ve got a big job on their hands in trying to overturn a 2-0 deficit against Bayer Leverkusen.

West Ham have a good squad with some brilliant players in their ranks, and the foundations for kicking on next season are certainly there.

For instance, Jarrod Bowen has been in amazing form once again this term, with 19 goals and eight assists from 40 outings in all competitions for his club.

The 27-year-old has beaten his 13-goal tally from last season and matched his assist tally, in 13 fewer games and counting.

Needless to say, Bowen has been an absolute revelation in claret and blue. He even helped them win the Europa Conference League last season.

And Sam Allardyce has been absolutely blown away by the West Ham winger’s efforts.

What has Sam Allardyce said about West Ham star Jarrod Bowen?
The former Hammers coach has gone as far as to label him one of the best Premier League signings ever.

“I mean Bowen, wow,” Allardyce said on No Tippy Tappy Football. “One of the best signings ever in the Premier League? From was it Hull City?”

Co-host Tim Sherwood replied: “Yeah, for £12million.” And Allardyce added: “And goals galore, never mind assists.”

That’s quite a compliment from one of the most knowledgeable figures in the English game, and Allardyce is spot on.

Bowen really is an amazing talent who would’ve been worth it had West Ham paid 10 times the amount.

The England international may yet be available against Leverkusen, with David Moyes saying his player will face a “pretty late” fitness test.
