Sean Dyche shares what Farhad Moshiri messaged him after steering Everton to survival

Everton manager Sean Dyche has revealed that he received a message from majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri after guiding the team to Premier League survival. Despite two separate points deductions this season, Everton secured their top-flight status with a hat-trick of wins at Goodison Park.

Dyche said that Moshiri’s message was business as usual, with the owner congratulating him on a fantastic outcome. The two have maintained a consistent level of communication since Dyche took over, with Moshiri often sending messages and making phone calls.

When asked if he hoped to shed his “firefighter” reputation, Dyche acknowledged that he might not have been appointed if the club was in a better state. He believes that the club would have sought a more fashionable manager if all was well.

Dyche also emphasized that there is still much work to be done at Everton, despite their recent success. He has tried to bring a sense of reality to the club, acknowledging that they are not in the same financial position as they were several years ago.

The manager described his role as a custodian, tasked with picking up the pieces and dealing with the challenges left behind by others. He is focused on building a better future for the club, even if it means being honest about their current situation
