Deal almost Done: Instead of signing Ross Backley, Everton ahead of Newcastle, Crystal Palace in race to sign 21-year-old German midfield prospect

Everton are leading the race to sign 21-year-old German midfielder Merlin Rohl from SC Freiburg, ahead of Newcastle United and Crystal Palace. According to The Sun, Rohl is a target for the Toffees, who are willing to pay around £12 million to secure his services.
