Report: £35k-a-week Everton player now ‘pushing’ to leave this summer, Dyche already has replacement lined up

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite is pushing to leave the club this summer, with Manchester United and Newcastle interested in signing him. According to Football Transfers, the 21-year-old defender is seeking a new challenge, and Everton are already lining up potential replacements.

One target is Luton Town’s Teden Mengi, a 22-year-old centre-back who has impressed in the Premier League. Mengi’s stats are similar to Branthwaite’s, with a high pass accuracy and success rate with long balls, as well as strong tackling and clearance numbers.

While losing Branthwaite would be a blow, Everton’s financial situation means they may need to sell to comply with Premier League profit and sustainability regulations. If Branthwaite leaves, Mengi could be a suitable replacement, offering a similar level of quality and physicality at the back.

Everton manager Sean Dyche and director of football Kevin Thelwell are likely to face a busy summer transfer window as they look to rebuild the squad and address the club’s financial issues.
