Everton takeover: Shock twist is on the cards – Keith wyness

Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness has revealed that a shocking twist could still be on the cards regarding the club’s takeover. Despite 777 Partners’ bid appearing to be dead in the water due to their failure to provide proof of funds, Wyness believes that a last-minute surprise could still see the US investment firm complete their takeover.

Wyness, who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009, stated on the Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast that 777 Partners still have a seat at the table and should not be ruled out just yet. While he believes that another group may eventually take over the club, he is not prepared to write off 777 Partners entirely.

This development comes after Everton owner Farhad Moshiri set a deadline for the end of May for 777 Partners to complete the takeover, which was agreed upon last September for £500million. Despite this, the company has yet to provide the necessary funds, leading to speculation that the deal may fall through.
