West Ham United are on the verge of securing the signature of Brazilian forward Luis Guilherme, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The 18-year-old Palmeiras player has verbally agreed to join the Hammers, and is expected to undergo a medical in London next week. However, Brazilian outlet Nosso Palestra reports that the transfer could be finalized as early as this week, with the medical scheduled to take place within the next 24 hours.
Guilherme has already started following several West Ham players on Instagram, including Emerson Palmieri, Kurt Zouma, and Jarrod Bowen, suggesting that the move is all but confirmed. The transfer fee is reportedly around £19.5 million, with an additional £6 million in add-ons. Palmeiras will also receive a 20% sell-on fee if Guilherme is sold in the future.
West Ham have been seeking to bolster their attack, which has relied heavily on Michail Antonio in recent years. The signing of Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo last season did not yield the desired results, and new manager Julen Lopetegui has moved quickly to secure Guilherme’s services. The young forward is also capable of playing in wide areas, offering versatility to the Hammers’ attack.
In addition to Guilherme, West Ham are also interested in signing Corinthians goalkeeper Carlos Miguel and Brazilian defender Vitao, as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
