“A club I have much Affection for and….” Leeds United newest signing has already shown that he is BEST fit for Leeds after what he said in the past 24 hours, it is a NEW DAWN

Leeds United’s newest signing, Alex Cairns, has expressed his delight at returning to Elland Road, nine years after departing the club. The goalkeeper, who has signed from Salford City, took to Twitter to share his excitement, saying: “Delighted to join the club that taught me my craft and a club I have much affection for.”

Cairns, who came through the academy setup at Thorp Arch, only made one appearance for the Whites during his first stint but is eager to contribute to the team’s success this time around. “For years I’ve looked on and seen the club make unbelievable strides and can’t wait to be a part of that,” he tweeted. “Now to get stuck in with the work and to help in whatever means necessary.”

The 31-year-old also bid farewell to Salford City, thanking the club for the opportunity and wishing them success in the future. “Just want to say a big thank you to everyone associated with @SalfordCityFC…I’ve loved every minute of the journey. Some really good people within the football club. I wish you all nothing but success in the future and will always be watching on.”

Cairns is expected to be behind Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow in the pecking order at Elland Road but is ready to play his part in the team’s success. His return to Leeds United has been welcomed by fans, who are excited to see the experienced stopper back at the club.
