BREAKING: LEEDS united plays very SMART rejects permanent exit to preserve the squad but allows same player to go on loan in what seems like the best deal of the summer

Darko Gyabi is set to return to Plymouth Argyle on loan from Leeds United, but the Whites have made it clear that they are not willing to sanction a permanent exit for the talented young midfielder. According to Plymouth Live, Argyle tried to sign Gyabi on a permanent deal this summer, but Leeds were unwilling to let him go.

Instead, Gyabi will return to Home Park on a second loan deal for the season, with Leeds retaining the option to recall him in the January transfer window. However, it is understood that this option is only available for a brief period, and Leeds are not expected to take it up.

Plymouth Argyle manager Neil Dewnsip revealed that the club had tried to sign Gyabi permanently, but Leeds were not interested in selling. “Darko wasn’t on the market to be bought,” Dewnsip said. “Leeds didn’t encourage that discussion. We did have a little nibble at that, but it wasn’t really on their agenda.”

Despite being unable to sign Gyabi permanently, Dewnsip is delighted to have secured his return on loan. “We all thought he contributed massively last year,” the Pilgrims boss said. “The fact he was injured at the end of the season was really disappointing for me and Nance (first team coach Kevin Nancekivell). Not to be able to select him was a blow.”

Gyabi’s return to Plymouth Argyle is a significant boost for the club, who are looking to build on last season’s success. The young midfielder was impressive during his loan spell at Home Park last term, and Leeds are keen to see him continue his development in the Championship.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke will be keeping a close eye on Gyabi’s progress, with a view to integrating him into the first team at Elland Road. However, with first-team opportunities likely to be limited for Gyabi this season, Leeds have opted to send him back out on loan to gain more experience.
