Newcastle United legend wants move for former Man Utd star amid Jarrod Bowen speculation

Newcastle United legend Andrew Cole has urged the club to sign former Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga, amid speculation over a move for West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen.

Cole believes Elanga would be a valuable addition to the Magpies’ squad, providing a solution to their need for a Premier League-quality winger.

Elanga, who joined Nottingham Forest last summer, impressed in his debut season, showcasing his pace, directness, and ability to pick out passes in the box. Cole, who scored 68 goals in 84 appearances for Newcastle between 1993 and 1995, sees Elanga as a promising talent who could replace Anthony Gordon if he leaves the club.Newcastle United have been active in the transfer market, signing Lloyd Kelly, John Ruddy, and Odysseas Vlachodimos, while also completing a permanent deal for Lewis Hall. However, the club’s focus has shifted to signing a centre-back, striker, and versatile winger, with Elanga and Bowen among the targets.

The Magpies’ interest in Elanga is not new, with discussions involving a potential swap deal with Nottingham Forest in June. While Bowen is also a target, Newcastle may face competition from other clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester City, who are interested in the West Ham winger.Cole’s endorsement of Elanga highlights the winger’s potential to make an impact at Newcastle United. With his pace, directness, and ability to create chances, Elanga could be a valuable asset for Eddie Howe’s side.

As the transfer window continues to unfold, Newcastle fans will be eagerly awaiting news of potential signings, with Elanga and Bowen among the most promising targets.
