‘Here we go’ – Everton target set for medical after £13m deal & five-year contract ‘agreed’ and……

Everton’s pursuit of Jaden Philogene has come to an end, with Aston Villa set to sign the Hull City winger on a five-year contract. The 22-year-old impressed Unai Emery with his performances last season, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists in 32 games.

Philogene’s return to Villa Park will come as a blow to Everton, who had been interested in signing the player. However, Villa inserted a matching rights agreement into his Hull contract, allowing them to match any bids for the player.

Philogene made six appearances for Villa after coming through the club’s academy before joining Hull last summer. He signed a three-year contract with the option for a further year.

Everton’s failure to sign Philogene leaves them with limited options on the wing. Manager Sean Dyche will have to rely on Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison as the start of the Premier League season approaches.
