According to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg, right-back Rasmus Kristensen is in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt over a potential transfer. The two clubs are discussing a permanent or loan deal with an option or obligation to buy, and a “verbal agreement is close.”
Kristensen joined Leeds in 2022 for £11m from RB Salzburg and was a regular under Jesse Marsch, making 30 appearances during the relegation campaign. He had a relegation release clause in his contract, which allowed him to join AS Roma on loan. In Italy, he played alongside former Leeds defender Diego Llorente and made 31 appearances in all competitions.
If Kristensen leaves, Leeds will be without a senior right-back, highlighting the need for signings in that area. Sheffield United’s Jayden Bogle has been linked with filling the void, but bids in the region of £4m have been turned down so far.
This potential exit adds to the growing list of players who have left Leeds this summer, including Joe Rodon, Joe Rothwell, Alex Cairns, Archie Gray, Marc Roca, Charlie Cresswell, Llorente, Robin Koch, Kristoffer Klaesson, Jamie Shackleton, and Luke Ayling. Sam Greenwood, Darko Gyabi, and Sonny Perkins have also departed on loan.
Leeds fans will be concerned about the lack of incoming signings, with only three senior arrivals so far this summer. The club’s transfer activity has been quiet compared to other Premier League teams, and the departures of key players like Kamara and potentially Kristensen will only add to the anxiety.
