Trevoh Chalobah’s Future at Chelsea Uncertain
Trevoh Chalobah, a 25-year-old defender, is facing an uncertain future at Chelsea. Despite featuring regularly when fit last season, Chalobah has been left out of Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the United States. According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are ready to part ways with the defender.
Chalobah spent a season on loan at Huddersfield Town in 2019/20, making 38 appearances and registering one goal and one assist. He then had a temporary switch to French side Lorient before returning to Stamford Bridge. However, with Chelsea having sufficient depth in the centre-back and right-back positions, the club is willing to let Chalobah depart for the right price.
Chalobah has been linked with West Ham United, Crystal Palace, and Fulham. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca explained the decision to omit Chalobah from the America tour, citing the team’s depth in the defender’s position. Maresca praised the performances of other defenders, including Axel Disasi, Tosin Adarabioyo, Wes Fofana, and Josh Acheampong.
Chalobah’s exclusion from the pre-season tour suggests that he is not in Chelsea’s plans for the upcoming season. With the transfer window still open, it remains to be seen where Chalobah will end up next.
