Celtic FC has set a minimum transfer price tag of £20m for striker Kyogo Furuhashi, who is reportedly a target for Manchester City. According to the Daily Mail, Celtic would be “unlikely to block” a transfer if a £20m fee is offered for the Japan international.

Furuhashi has been in impressive form for Celtic, and his goalscoring ability has caught the attention of Premier League clubs. Manchester City is thought to be considering a transfer swoop for the striker after Julian Alvarez moved to Atletico Madrid.

However, Celtic is under no pressure to sell Furuhashi, who still has three years left on his contract. The club has recently signed Adam Idah on a permanent deal, and Daizen Maeda has been deputizing as a central striker in Furuhashi’s absence.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has commented on Furuhashi’s recent shoulder injury, saying: “He doesn’t feel 100 per cent but normally he is okay to go again. This is a problem that he has had or managed from away back in Japan, not just here.”

Rodgers also hinted that Furuhashi’s injury could be fixed with an operation, but that would be down to the player to decide. Meanwhile, midfielder Matt O’Riley has been tipped to leave Celtic for Brighton in a record-breaking deal.

The transfer speculation surrounding O’Riley has been ongoing all summer, with bids from Atalanta thrown out by club chiefs. However, Brighton is leading the race to sign O’Riley with a £25m upfront fee expected, plus a 10 percent sell-on fee for Celtic.
