“Do you Know?” – Celtic SACKED member of staff after leaking transfer list that included Chelsea star and former Man Utd player.

In 2019, Celtic FC sacked a member of staff, Maureen Quinn, after the team’s summer transfer list was leaked online. The list included notable players such as Chelsea’s Reece James and Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.

Quinn, a 57-year-old cleaner, was accused of leaking the document, which she denied. She claimed she was a scapegoat and had done nothing wrong. Her son, Edward Quinn, who worked in security at the club’s training center, was also suspended for his alleged involvement.

The leak led to an immediate investigation, and Celtic called Maureen Quinn into a meeting where she was sacked on the spot. Quinn stated that she was innocent and only emptied bins and took them to the bin room as part of her job. She also claimed that she didn’t know much about the team or its players.

Edward Quinn also denied any involvement, stating that he had been questioned by the club’s lawyer and head of security, and had shown them his nails to prove they didn’t match the ones in the photo of the leaked document.

A Celtic spokesman said that the club had acted appropriately in the matter, but Maureen Quinn and her son maintained their innocence. The incident highlights the importance of confidentiality and security within football clubs, especially when it comes to sensitive information like transfer targets.
