Everton Crisis: “Dyche or Takeover Saga” – Everton is Faced with Plethora of Issues and will Dyche POTENTIAL Successor; a Former Chelsea Manager Solve it?

Everton Football Club is facing a crisis after a dismal start to the Premier League season. The team has lost its first two games, conceding seven goals and failing to score against Brighton and Tottenham. Although they managed a confidence-boosting win over Doncaster in the EFL Cup, they capitulated in the last few minutes of their following league game against Bournemouth, losing 3-2 after being 2-0 up in the 86th minute.

As a result, alarm bells are ringing at Everton, and manager Sean Dyche is under pressure. Despite guiding the team to safety last season after a poor start, Dyche has failed to improve the team’s performance this season. The club’s hierarchy has given him a “vote of confidence,” but his future remains uncertain.

Everton’s struggles on the pitch are compounded by the club’s ongoing takeover talks. John Textor, co-owner of Lyon and Crystal Palace, is the latest to attempt to buy Farhad Moshiri’s stake at Goodison Park. However, the takeover discussions have not distracted the club’s current top-brass from their concerns about the team’s performance.

With Everton bottom of the table and having made the worst start in their history, the club’s hierarchy is considering potential replacements for Dyche. Among the candidates is former Chelsea boss Graham Potter, who has admirers within the club. Potter was sacked by Chelsea in 2023, but his reputation as a good manager remains intact.

David Moyes, another former Everton manager, would also be considered for the role. Moyes has previously described Potter as a “very good” manager and believes he will be back in the game soon. Moyes’ endorsement of Potter adds weight to his candidacy, and it will be interesting to see if Everton acts on their interest in the former Chelsea boss.

The situation at Everton is complex, with the takeover talks and the team’s poor performance creating uncertainty about the future. However, one thing is clear: something needs to change if the club is to avoid relegation and achieve its goals. Whether that change involves replacing Dyche with Potter or another manager remains to be seen.
