Leeds To RECALL a Gem From Loan? Daniel Farke Addresses Potential RECALL of Leeds Gem Amid Leeds United Injury Crisis…

Daniel Farke Addresses Potential Recall of Darko Gyabi Amid Leeds United Injury Crisis

Leeds United is grappling with a severe injury crisis, with seven players currently sidelined ahead of their Friday clash against Sunderland. Manager Daniel Farke faces a daunting task, with Ilia Gruev’s injury adding to the growing list that includes Diogo Monteiro, Ethan Ampadu, Max Wober, Manor Solomon, Dan James, and Isaac Schmidt.

Farke confirmed that Gruev will undergo a scan to assess the extent of his injury. When questioned about potentially recalling players out on loan, specifically £5m signing Darko Gyabi from Plymouth Argyle, Farke opted to focus on his current squad.

“Obviously, we have a look [monitoring Darko’s loan spell],” Farke said. “But overall, I don’t want to speak about players we have loaned out. I just want to concentrate on the players and the group we have here right now.”

Farke emphasized his priority on the players currently at Elland Road, rather than exploring recall options.

Gyabi, who joined Leeds from Manchester City in 2022, has impressed during his loan spell at Plymouth, catching the attention of manager Wayne Rooney.

“He drove forwards, a real attribute of his,” Rooney praised.

Key takeaways:

  • Leeds United faces an injury crisis with seven players sidelined.
  • Daniel Farke focuses on current squad rather than recalling loaned players.
  • Darko Gyabi impresses during Plymouth loan spell under Wayne Rooney.
  • Farke unlikely to recall Gyabi, prioritizing current players.

Leeds United’s injury woes have raised concerns, but Farke’s decision to focus on his existing squad suggests that Gyabi’s recall is unlikely, even if the option exists in January. Instead, Farke may explore alternative solutions, such as signing Wales talent Charlie Crew, to bolster his midfield options.
