Celtic FC Secures Adam Idah on Permanent Basis
Celtic Football Club who announced the highly anticipated signing of Adam Idah from Norwich City on a five-year contract. The 23-year-old Irish striker returns to Glasgow’s east end following a successful loan spell last season.
Idah’s impressive performance during his loan period saw him score nine times in 19 games, contributing significantly to Celtic’s Scottish Premiership title and Scottish Cup victory. His 89th-minute winner against Rangers in the Scottish Cup final sealed the deal for the Hoops.
According to reports, Celtic will pay an initial fee of £8.5 million, with £1 million in add-ons. Norwich City has also secured a 15% sell-on clause as part of the agreement.
Norwich City’s Sporting Director, Ben Knapper, praised Idah’s development: “Adam leaves with our very best wishes. He has a great opportunity at Celtic to continue his progression… Everyone at Norwich City wishes Adam the very best for the future.”
Celtic Manager Brendan Rodgers expressed his delight: “We are delighted to welcome Adam back to Celtic on a permanent basis… The club has done brilliantly to secure this long-term deal. We are investing in a player of real quality who will be crucial for us over the next few years.”
Adam Idah shared his excitement: “I think everyone knew where I wanted to be. It’s amazing for me and I’m delighted to be back… Within the first couple of days of being here when I came on loan, I wanted to play for Celtic. It was amazing to get all those goals and to be in with the boys and to see these amazing fans week in, week out was unbelievable.”
Idah’s permanent transfer comes as Celtic prepares for the upcoming season, with the team looking to defend their Scottish Premiership title and make a strong impact in European competitions.
