Celtic Boss Brendan Rodgers Addresses Alex Valle’s Future Amid Barcelona Return Rumors

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has moved to quell speculation surrounding Alex Valle’s potential return to Barcelona, insisting he is unaware of any developments.

The 20-year-old Spanish left-back has impressed during his season-long loan at Parkhead, sparking reports that La Liga leaders Barcelona may cut short his stint. However, Rodgers remains confident Valle will remain in Glasgow.

“It’s not something that I’m aware of, and nobody has told me anything different,” Rodgers said. “I suppose we’re getting close to the stage where rumors, gossip, and everything kicks in.”

Rodgers emphasized Valle’s enjoyment of his time at Celtic and the valuable experience he is gaining in the Champions League and domestic football. “We wouldn’t want to lose him. He’s obviously a very important player for us.”

Injury Update: Carter-Vickers and Trusty

Meanwhile, Rodgers provided an update on the fitness of defensive duo Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty. The American pair missed training but are expected to be available for Sunday’s trip to Kilmarnock.

” Yeah, we’ll just assess that. I think they’ll be fine, but we just need to give them that extra wee bit of recovery time. They’ll do a light session tomorrow, and hopefully, all being well, it will be the same squad.”
