“Is he staying or leaving?” Brendan Rodgers Opens Up on TOP PLAYERS Contract Dilemma
Brendan Rodgers Opens Up on Greg Taylor Contract Dilemma
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has addressed the uncertain future of left-back Greg Taylor, whose contract expires in July.
Taylor, 26, signed a contract extension in November 2021 but has yet to agree to a new deal under Rodgers.
Rodgers praised Taylor’s importance to the team, citing his performances and conduct.
“Greg is clearly someone I see as a big part of what we’re looking to continue here, and I hope over the coming months that we can [agree on a new contract],” Rodgers said.
Taylor has been a fixture in Rodgers’ team, starting alongside Alex Valle in recent matches.
Rodgers emphasized Taylor’s value beyond his on-field contributions.
“He’s a big voice in the changing room, focused, and loves being here,” Rodgers said.
With Taylor’s contract allowing him to sign a pre-contract agreement in less than two months, Celtic faces a critical decision.
Rodgers acknowledged the need for clarity.
“There does come a point where both sides understand what we’re thinking,” Rodgers said.
Taylor’s situation raises questions about his future at Celtic.
Will Celtic secure Taylor’s long-term commitment, or will he explore other options?
Only time will tell.
