Celtic are reportedly leading the chase for Motherwell’s highly-rated midfielder Lennon Miller, with a potential January transfer move on the cards.
The 18-year-old has impressed in the Scottish top flight, attracting interest from Celtic, Rangers, Liverpool, and Southampton. Miller’s performances have earned him the captain’s armband and a call-up to the Scotland U21 squad.
According to Mark Guidi, speaking on the Go Radio Football Show Podcast, Celtic are well-placed to secure Miller’s signature. Guidi stated:
“It wouldn’t surprise me to see him at Celtic and to see a deal happening in January. Motherwell will be in a great position, and so will the boy. I can see him having five or six excellent options.”
Motherwell are under no pressure to sell, with Miller contracted until 2026. The club is expected to demand a fee exceeding £4 million, surpassing the £3.25 million received for David Turnbull’s transfer to Celtic in 2020.
Celtic’s financial position, bolstered by their Champions League success, puts them in a strong position to make a compelling offer. Guidi believes Rangers may struggle to compete with Celtic’s financial muscle.
