Hull City Poised to Name Former Southampton Manager Ruben Selles as New Boss

Hull City are on the verge of appointing Ruben Selles as their new manager, following the departure of Tim Walter last week. The 41-year-old Spaniard is set to join from League One side Reading, where he has impressed despite facing significant challenges.

Selles’ appointment comes as Hull City seek to revive their struggling season, currently mired in the relegation zone. The team has won just one of their last 15 games, losing five consecutive matches.

A former Southampton manager, Selles has also held coaching roles at Valencia, Aarhus and Copenhagen. In an interview with Coaches Voice, he expressed his ambition to return to the top level and compete against the best teams.

“Hull City need to focus on bringing the love of football to the players, staff and fans,” Selles said. “Then I believe we could have a lot of fun.”

Leeds United, who beat Hull 2-0 in August, will face Derby County at Elland Road on Saturday, looking to bounce back from their recent loss to Blackburn.
