Celtic Player Alexandro Bernabei’s Agent Travels for Negotiations – Offer Made to Brendan Rodgers’ Side
According to recent reports from Brazil, Celtic left-back Alexandro Bernabei is close to leaving the club permanently, with SC Internacional keen on retaining him after his loan spell last year. The Brazilian club’s president, Alessandro Barcellos, and vice-president, José Olavo Bisol, confirmed negotiations with Celtic last month.
UOL reported on Thursday that Internacional has made advances in their negotiations to buy the 24-year-old, making an offer to Celtic. This is backed up by GZH, who state that Bernabei’s agent, Juan Cruz Oller, is set to arrive in Glasgow on Friday to negotiate his client’s exit from Celtic.
The officials from both clubs have been in discussions for a while, and the negotiations are expected to speed up following the representative’s arrival. Internacional has already made an offer, reportedly around £4.5m, and GZH relay that Bernabei’s Celtic Park exit is expected to be finalized this weekend.
This development comes as no surprise, given Bernabei’s limited playing time at Celtic. The left-back has struggled to establish himself in Brendan Rodgers’ side, and a move to Internacional could provide him with more opportunities to play regularly.
The transfer fee of £4.5m is a significant amount for a player who has not been a regular starter for Celtic. However, it is likely that the club will accept the offer, given Bernabei’s limited contribution to the team.
The departure of Bernabei will likely have minimal impact on Celtic’s squad, but it will provide the club with some much-needed funds to strengthen their team in other areas. With the Scottish Premiership title race heating up, Celtic will be looking to make some savvy signings to maintain their dominance at the top of the table.
