Celtic Transfer News: Kyogo Furuhashi’s Future Uncertain
Celtic FC’s star striker Kyogo Furuhashi has been linked with a move to French club Rennes, according to reports in France. Respected outlets L’Equipe and Ouest France claim that Rennes head coach Jorge Sampaoli is keen on Kyogo, but sporting director Frederic Massara is hesitant to pay Celtic’s £10m asking price for the 29-year-old Japanese striker.
Kyogo’s former Celtic teammate Jota currently plays for Rennes, although the Portuguese winger has not started a match since November. Celtic is reportedly holding talks with Rennes over a potential sale, but it remains to be seen whether a deal will be agreed.

Rangers FC has agreed a deal to send winger Rabbi Matondo on loan to an unnamed European club until the end of the season, according to reports. The 24-year-old Welsh international has endured an injury-plagued season, missing four months of action due to a hamstring injury.
Transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke reported that Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday have also made enquiries for Matondo’s services. Football Insider claims the deal includes a £2million option to buy.
Hearts Transfer News: Kye Rowles Departs, Michael Steinwender Linked
Hearts FC has sold defender Kye Rowles to D.C United for a reported fee of around £600,000. The Australian international made 103 appearances for Hearts since joining from A-League outfit Central Coast Mariners in 2022.
Hearts head coach Neil Critchley said, “While we’re obviously sad to see him go, it’s a good deal for him and it’s a good deal for the club, so he goes with our thanks and our best wishes.”
The departure of Rowles looks set to accelerate plans to sign Michael Steinwender, with reports claiming Hearts have agreed a six-figure transfer fee with his Swedish club, IFK Varnamo, for the Austrian centre-back.
Hibs Transfer News: Jani Atanasov Linked
Hibernian FC has been linked with a move for KS Cracovia midfielder Jani Atanasov. The 25-year-old North Macedonian international is out of contract with the Polish top-flight side this summer.
Reports claim that Hibs are weighing up a potential move for Atanasov, who has been capped 22 times by his country, scoring three goals. Atanasov was previously linked with Celtic in 2022.
Hibs has yet to sign any new players in the January transfer window but has seen several departures, including Jake Doyle-Hayes, Josh O’Connor, Nohan Kenneh, and Janneh.
