According to a report from Yeni Akit Gazetesi, West Ham and Galatasaray are both interested in signing McTominay. However, the Turkish Super Lig side may be a better fit for the 27-year-old midfielder, as they can afford to pay a higher transfer fee and offer him a starting role. West Ham, on the other hand, would be wasting their time and resources if they were to sign McTominay, as he is not at the Premier League level.
McTominay has been a flop for Manchester United, and his limitations have been exposed at the highest level. He may have some scoring upside, having scored seven goals in 18 starts and 14 substitute appearances for Manchester United, but his defensive positional errors and technical limitations make him a liability for West Ham.
The Hammers should be aiming higher than McTominay, who is not a suitable replacement for their current midfielders. Instead, they should focus on signing a midfielder who can provide quality and depth to their squad. As it stands, McTominay is not the answer to West Ham’s midfield problems, and the club should avoid wasting their time and resources on a player who is not good enough for the Premier League.
