During his time at Spurs, Bergwijn made 83 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists.

However, West Ham’s interest in Bergwijn is not new. The club first expressed interest in the winger in January but was unable to navigate Financial Fair Play rules. Now, with the summer transfer window open, West Ham is reportedly ready to reignite their pursuit of Bergwijn.

Ajax, however, is not keen to lose Bergwijn, who scored 12 goals in 24 Eredivisie games last season. A bid of around €30m (£25.8m) would be enough to get a deal done.

Two unnamed clubs from Saudi Arabia have already expressed interest in Bergwijn and are willing to pay the required fee. However, it is unclear whether Bergwijn would be interested in moving to the Middle East. A return to London, however, is thought to appeal to the Netherlands international.

West Ham’s interest in Bergwijn is likely due to his Premier League experience and his ability to play as a winger. The Hammers have been lacking in width and creativity in their attack, and Bergwijn’s signing would help address those issues.
