Arsenal’s dressing room is seemingly the place to be according to multiple Gunners stars, including both Leandro Trossard and summer signing Kai Havertz.

The days of relentless reports of internal rifts behind closed doors in the red half of north London are long gone and manager Mikel Arteta has clearly cultivated the kind of atmosphere that players love. The harmony within the current crop of Arsenal stars is standing them in good stead, with two wins from their opening two Premier League games.

Havertz’s arrival from London rivals Chelsea in the summer for a fee of £60million raised plenty of questions from fans and pundits alike, but the Germany international was keen on the move from the moment Arsenal’s interest was apparent and during his first interview as a Gunner in June, he explained why.

“I think the family mentality that the team has on the pitch is one of the reasons why it so hard to play against Arsenal,” he told the club website. “I guess they have it off the pitch as well. So the team mentality in the squad is very, very high and you can feel that. Obviously there’s so many talented players and there’s big room to achieve big things as well.”

Two months on, Trossard has echoed a similar sentiment while discussing how his own Arsenal journey has been after he joined from Brighton during the January transfer window. The Belgium forward has opened up on the dynamics of the Gunners first-team fold.

“It’s so much like a family,” he said. “Once you enter the building everyone takes care of you, you can ask them whatever you want and it’s a really nice feeling.”

Trossard went on to single out Arsenal’s new additions and praise the impact they have had on the dressing room, adding: “Kai, Timber and Declan are all great additions for the squad. They all bring something and it’s competitive, so everyone has to be at the top of their game to perform well. It’s a really good bunch of lads and it’s nice to have them here.”

“But that’s the most difficult thing in football, so if you don’t do that, you have to do the other part, which is be extremely solid. We were last week [vs Forest] and we were again today [vs Palace] with the chances we conceded. Let’s keep playing better and evolving.”
